Avon Tyrell Thursday 22nd March

Hi everyone,

A quick message on our final full day at Avon Tyrell. We have had another great day. After a filling cooked breakfast, all four groups did raft building together. Amazingly no one fell in, even with most groups standing up on their rafts and singing ‘heads, shoulders, knees and toes’!

After that we split up to do various other activities including zip wire, high ropes, canoeing, abseiling, shelter building and archery.

We finished the day with a fantastic camp fire with toasted marshmallows and a talent show.

Once again the children have impressed us with their enthusiasm and determination. They have encouraged and supported each other in the more challenging individual tasks and have also displayed superb teamwork in the group activities.

We aim to leave tomorrow at around midday and should arrive back at approximately 3pm. The school office will confirm timings with parents when we’re on the road.

Avon Tyrell Wednesday 21st March

The Kemble children have all had a great day today. They have experienced zip wiring over a lake, mountain biking, bush craft sessions, low rope team challenges and pond dipping. They are now finishing the evening with a much anticipated disco!

They have also eaten well – croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast, followed by pasta for lunch and pies for dinner.

Once again, they have shown enthusiasm, bravery and determination whilst carrying out the range of activities.

Tomorrow’s highlights include canoeing, abseiling and raft building as well as a final night camp fire with marshmallows and games.

Hopefully all will sleep well after such a busy day.

From Mrs Parmiter

Year 6 residential

Hello

We have all safely arrived at Avon Tyrell and the children have settled into their rooms and and made beds.

For lunch there was a choice of vege burgers, beef burgers, jacket potatoes and salad.

This afternoon everyone took part in 2 activities from shelter building, abseiling, pond dipping, archery, and canoeing.

After returning to the house and starting our diaries we will be having tea – curry tonight before heading out on a night walk.

Photos will hopefully follow when we have sorted the Internet access.

Many thanks

Ms Wyatt and Mrs Parmiter.
