Homework 17th January 2014

Hello Chestnut Class,

Well done for a very hardworking week. I especially enjoyed watching you discover ‘ooze’ on Wednesday. Has anyone tried it at home yet? Congratulations to Izzy, Tyler and Hannah for getting your well earned certificates.
Homework for this week:
English homework is the second reading comprehension. Read the questions carefully and answer in full sentences.

Maths homework is to complete your mathletics tasks. After that, why don’t you play live mathletics? You could arrange to be online at the same time as a friend and compete against each other. Also, you could have a practise at ‘Hit the Button’ ready for our tournament after half term.

Spellings this week are all linked to the ie/ei pattern, with an ‘ee’ sound.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Parmiter

Homework week 1 Spring term 2014

Welcome back Chestnut Class!

Well done all of you for getting straight into work mode after the holidays. We had a great first week back – congratulations to Alex and Grace R for your well earned certificates. Your maths homework this week linked in with all the measures work we have been doing in class, converting from metres to kilometres. English homework this term will start with practising your reading and comprehension skills. The first of these is to read an extract from Conkers and answer questions about it.

Your spellings all contain the suffix ‘al’ – keep practising them ready for the test on Friday.

Mrs Parmiter
