Homework Friday 28th February

Hello Chestnut Class,

Well done to all of you for getting straight back into work mode after your holidays. This week for English homework I would like you to research the author Oliver Jeffers and write some facts about him.We will be looking at his books all of next week. This can be written as a fact file, a poster or in a different way. If you don’t have access to the internet at home feel free to do this at school.

Maths  homework is linked to our coordinates this week.

Spellings are all with -ent or -ant suffixes.

Have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Parmiter

Half Term Homework 14th February 2014

Hello Chestnut Class,

Well Done for another really hard working week despite the bad weather!

Over the holiday it would be great if you could practice playing ‘Hit the Button’ ready for our house challenge after half term.

Also you have a classic poem – ‘The song of the Old Mother’ to analyse and answer questions about.

Lastly, your spellings which all have the -ious suffix. Make sure you find out any unknown meanings before using them in sentences.

Have a lovely break. Looking forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 25th February,

Mrs Parmiter

Homework 7th february

Hello Chestnut Class,

Homework this week is split – for those who went to Stackpole, I would like you to write a thankyou letter to the staff to thank them for the fabulous time we had last week. Feel free to mention your favourite activities, foods, funny  and memorable parts..

For the rest of you, please type out your 500 word story that you wrote with Mrs Rogers. You can then either email it back to school via Mrs Turner or enter the competition yourself on the radio 2 website.

Also, your spelling words are all linked to our science topic and the maths homework is linked to using mental strategies to speed up calculations.

Have fun!
