Another great day at Stackpole.
The sun shined all day! Both groups took part in some orienteering activities – lots of careful map reading and team work. Siddington children also did some conservation work clearing brambles and laurel bushes and learnt about the history and wildlife of the Stackpole Estate.
Kemble children enjoyed a morning of bike riding which included cycling across a stream. Every one rode with confidence and had fun.
Tonight the children have filled up with giant jacket potatoes with a choice of bolognese, beans, tuna and cheese fillings, followed by jam sponge and custard – delicious!
No quotes from the children tonight as they are busy enjoying an evening of team games and we don’t want to disturb them!
Today we arrived to beautiful sunshine and quickly settled into our rooms. Everyone has successfully made their beds without disappearing inside the duvet covers, so don’t worry!
Everyone has been really great at chatting and making new friends which is great to see.
After a salad bar lunch of rolls, ham, cheese and amazing cakes we set off to enjoy some time at Broadhaven beach.
We have had a delicious dinner of pasta and bolognaise sauce, followed by apple crumble and custard. Mrs Parmiter and Ms Wyatt certainly were ready for their tea!
Today’s Blog Quotes
Isabelle “I saw a massive jelly fish in the sand and Beth and I found seaweed and smelt it – it smelt of fish”
Carter “We saw a swan it was huge. I liked the beach; it was awesome”
Beth “ We saw lots of sand dunes and rolled down them; it was out of this world!”
Sam “I enjoyed the massive walk on the beach”
What a great day we’ve had today! Both groups experienced mountain biking in the mud through hail, rain and wind. All survived and enjoyed the experience immensely. This afternoon we completed an orienteering course and returned to a super chicken curry with rice and naan bread followed by a delicious homemade cheesecake.
This evening, after a spot of bag packing, we have been fully entertained by ‘Stackpole’s Got Talent’. Kemble did us proud!!
The children are settling now for their final sleep here. Tomorrow we will all head down to the beach for the morning for a conservation session. We plan to leave straight after lunch at about 1pm

Another great day today – the rain held off for most of it and we even had sunshine and a beautiful rainbow. The children all slept well and woke to enjoy a filling breakfast of cereal, toast, bacon and eggs. We then set off for our activities – orienteering and conservation work. After rolls, ham, cheese and salad we all set off to the beach to do some rock pooling. We collected a range of sea creatures including 6 crabs, a pipe fish and a blenny.
This evening’s meal was jacket potato, beans and cheese. This was followed by our nightline activity in the dark – the children will fill you in I’m sure!
All settling now, shattered after a full day.
